Shallots, garlic, wine, butter-what more do you want. I felt bad for our server...
We went around noon for clams and drinks. We were told the order was put in at 12:39, which was over half an hour from when we ordered.
- Both 83 West and 29 North at 83 West are chef-driven and items are freshly prepared with seasonally and locally-sourced products.
We keep trying to go back as locals and honestly if Angela isn't working service levels and execution just aren't the same..... Tried on Sunday again this past weekend and had to leave before our basic food selection even came out.... Paid for our drinks and left..... Making it tough to support even though I understand the workforce limitations being on Cedar Key..... Steamers doesn't seem to ever have this problem but just wish you could get it right as we like your food..... I can't review the food since we sat there for 45 minutes and never got any food! There were only 3 occupied tables in the whole place but no food was coming out of the kitchen. I felt bad for our server... We walked out and went to Duncan's to eat and had great food and service! We went around noon for clams and drinks. Clam sauce was one of best I have had. Shallots, garlic, wine, butter-what more do you want. The redfish with fries and fritters were well liked by 2. Another had a BLT which was very large and he ate it all. Our group of 4 attended the Cedar Key Seafood festival. We decided to eat lunch at a restaurant so we could sit down. We got to 83 West about noon and ordered our food right away. After we received water we never had anyone come to the table again. We saw our waitress tending bar, she never came back. The server helper brought food to people seated after us. Just before 1 pm one of our group asked about our order. We were told the order was put in at 12:39, which was over half an hour from when we ordered. So, we left and went to Duncan's Waterfront. The place was empty and it quickly became obvious why. The wine was Gallo quality, VERY small portions, and expensive. The menu was fried, fried, and fried again. Nothing at all that was worth eating. We left our drinks and left the almost empty restaurant. Should have known to stay away from an empty restaurant at dinner time. Don't waste your time. We wanted an out of the way place where we could enjoy this amazing little town. We reviewed every restaurant in Cedar Key before we went there and found that 83 West hit all our criteria - on the water, reasonably priced, variety of choices, friendly staff. We went during the week, but this town was very busy for its size. I'd recommend a visit to not only Cedar Key, but this restaurant.

The server helper brought food to people seated after us. Paid for our drinks and left. Come enjoy indoor open air dining, panoramic views, deck seating, full bar, 3 pool tables, and full bar.
